Welcome to the Coordination and Bio-Inspired Inorganic Chemistry Research Laboratory, where we explore the fascinating interface between coordination chemistry, bio-inspired inorganic chemistry, and molecular materials. Our research is dedicated to the design, synthesis, and characterization of coordination complexes based on earth-abundant first-row transition metals (V, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn) and lanthanides. Inspired by nature's metalloenzymes, we develop molecular systems that mimic biological processes to understand fundamental chemical reactivity and create functional materials with applications in small-molecule activation, catalysis, molecular magnetism, and environmental sustainability. By integrating synthetic chemistry, single-crystal X-ray crystallography, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and theoretical studies, we aim to establish structure–property relationships that drive the rational design of next-generation inorganic materials.
